Alegria defy expectations and beat La Dolfina

When it seemed everything was set to be another final, with the same two teams, the unthinkable occurred in Hurlingham on Saturday. The result brings fresh air to the Triple Crown 2017 and to the future of one of the major tournaments in the world.

They played the best match of their lives, and made it to over time to take the coveted victory. Alegria beat La Dolfina, considered by many as the best team in polo history, alongside the mythical Coronel Suarez. What Alegria achieved, Ellerstina have only done so four times. Sapo Caset, Hilario Ulloa, Facu Sola, Fred Mannix and Clemente Zavaleta will never forget this day. But the challenge continues: on Saturday they will face Ellerstina in the final.
