A new edition of the FIP World Polo Championship will begin on Saturday in Sydney, Australia. Sydney Polo Club, in the suburb of Richmond, has been preparing to receive this great event. Eight teams, divided in two zones, are set to compete. Zone A is composed of locals Australia, Argentina, USA and Spain; Zone B includes defending champions Chile, New Zealand, England and India.

It is worth recalling some of the fundamental characteristics of the event: First of all, the maximum team handicap limit is 14-goals, and no player above 5-goals is allowed to compete. The horses for the championship are provided by the organisers of the event; the horses are divided into categories and sorted. Each team must change horse halfway through the chukka.

Finally, continuing our promise to bring you polo from around the world, the World Polo Championship will be covered exclusively by Pololine, Media Partner of the FIP. Six professionals will bring you news straight from Sydney, we will be getting footage from the matches you'll find in Pololine.tv.

We are only three days away from the start of the World Polo Cup! Get ready for action!
