The official presentation of the 46th Torneo Internacional de Polo took place at the Los Pinos, Santa Maria Polo Club, in Sotogrande. The tournament gathers some of the best players and teams of the world, totalling fifteen different nationalities.

The tournament, previously 22-goals, will be played at a 20 goals handicap, thus encouraging more teams to participate. The other big news of the season is the incorporation of the Sunset Valley Festival and the aim to extend the high season through to January, February and March.

The Torneo Internacional de Polo is split into three categories: Low, Medium and High Goal. The Royal Bliss Bronze Cup and the Maserati Silver Cup will kick the contest off. The highlight of the season will be the Santa Maria Polo Club Gold Cup, to be played in August. The Gold Cup is part of the Grand Slam, as is the US Open, British Open and Argentine Triple Crown.

This 46th edition will see over 21 teams in participation, with a many high goal players taking part, such as: Argentines Facundo Pieres (Ayala Polo Team), Juan Martin Nero (Lechuza Caracas) and Pablo MacDonough (Brunei / Dubai) and Uruguayan Pelon Stirling.

But not everything happens on the field; visitors will have several activities to enjoy, from a varied cuisine, shopping village, kids area, bars, to parties at the After Polo and as a great new event, four concerts with national and International artists, gathered at the Sunset Valley Festival.

Entrance is free of charge, except the finals of the Silver and Gold Cup (high goal).
