      Scapa Sports the winner

Defeated Tom Tailor in the final of the Scapa Trophy

      Subsidiary went to Natuzzi
      June 24, 2012
In a very close match, Scapa Sports took the Scapa Polo Trophy, in Belgium, after defeating Tom Tailor by a narrow 6-7, in extra chukker, with a golden goal by Santiago Cernadas.

Both teams arrived to the final in a very different situation. In their respective semifinals, Tom Tailor had easily edged Entourage of 7, while Scapa Sports had to work hard to beat Hot Conejos. Many thought that Tom Tailor was in great form to win the competition, but a final is always a final....

Tom Tailor hit first, as they took an early 1-0 advantage in the first chukker, through a goal by Octavio Olmedo Guerra. Scapa's Juan Cruz Greguoli tied the scores in the second chukker, but Uwe Schroeder put Tom Tailor back on top. However, Scapa Sports, would take the lead, following a 60 yards penalty and a 60 yards corner, courtesy of Santiago Cernadas. By the end of the second period, Scapa Sports had a 3-2 advantage.

Scapa Sports maintained their advantage during the third chukker. Tom Tailor tied again through a goal by Juan Gonzalez, but Cernadas converted another penalty shot for Scapa, who was leading 4-3 by half time.

The two last chukkers were a different story. Tom Tailor tied the scores, and with only 30 seconds to go in the fifth and last frame, he converted a 30 yards penalty shot that sent the match into overtime. That was when a foul awarded to Scapa Sports ended up in a penalty from the spot, that was converted by Santiago Cernadas, that secured the title to Michael Redding and his boys.

      Score Scapa Sports: 0-1, 3-2., 4-3, 5-5, 6-6, 7-6

Meanwhile, Natuzzi beat Lowe QM 9 - 5,5 and won the Subsidiary Trophy.

In a medium goal final (4-6), Los Bandidos beat Nipas by a close 7 -6,5. The teams were as follows:

      Los Bandidos:
      1 Tim Lems 0
      2 Pascal Zantman 1
      3 Maurice Van Druten 2
      4 Gonzalo Bernal 3

      Nipas
1 Niels van der Hoeven -1
